Ha' Matcha Cup Set

This set of two 220 mL porcelain cups was designed to match our navy blue Ha’ Matcha Bowl. Coated in this same matte glaze custom to Blue Bottle, the cups feature an exposed porcelain foot for textural interest. Our logo is tucked away on the interior of the lip for a seamless and minimal look.

Designed and crafted in Japan, these cups are traditional to tea ceremonies and were made to be cradled in your hands while you enjoy your matcha.

Our matcha cups are inspired by the timeless elegance and functionality of traditional Japanese chawan vessels. Created in collaboration with Isono Somei, the ninth head of the Sekishu-Isa school of bukesado (samurai tea ceremony), and guided by her expertise, these cups feature a wide mouth and smaller base. The gentle curve fits comfortably in your hand, allowing you to deeply experience the tea’s aroma. Whether you're enjoying a quiet moment of reflection or sharing with others, these cups are crafted to enhance the ritual of matcha.

TLC for Your Matcha Cups

To preserve the beauty and elegance of your matcha cups, we recommend washing by hand using a nonabrasive sponge and avoiding solvents and abrasive cleaning products. However, this cup is dishwasher- and microwave-safe (but not intended for commercial dishwashers). The greater care you put into your matcha cups, the longer you’ll be able to enjoy them.
