Bella Donovan is the cashmere sweater of our blends — comforting, cozy, and enveloping. A naturally processed Ethiopian coffee with jammy berry notes brings a glimmer of fruit to the chocolate-heavy base. Roasted on the darker side for sweetness and body, this organic blend straddles the worlds of complexity and comfort while standing up to automatic drip machines or a heavy pour of milk or cream.

Our signature blends were born from this exploration and have become our most iconic coffees. Their creation took time, experimentation, and refinement — but we believe great taste is worth the pursuit.

Bella Donovan

This classic on our menu is inspired by the archetypal Moka-Java pairing, which many consider the world’s first commercial coffee blend. In the original version, a winey natural coffee from Yemen, shipped from the Port of Mokha, is blended with an earthier coffee from Java. Our take relies on an Ethiopian natural for fruity overtones.

Small Batch Coffee, Fresh-Roasted Daily to Order

We employ the Japanese notion of Kaizen in our roasting practice. This idea of “good change” or “continuous improvement” drives our team to keep daily records of their tastings, always chasing better, more delicious, more consistent coffees.

We roast small batches on Loring machines around the world, so our coffee tastes not only luminous but also reliably consistent, from Tokyo to San Francisco to New York.
